That’s literally how my first conversation with this awesome couple began, and there was no doubt right away on either side that we’d be working together to plan an awesome event for them.
Corin Ztanze & Louie Lavin connected with me and SCE though our extensive Bridal Show calendar. The most interesting part about our first real meeting is that it took place over a Skype call. Because of their remote location (or mine, depending on how you look at it), we scheduled a convenient video call to casually discuss the vision for their celebration, and really just to get to know each other. We chatted for the next 40 minutes or so, had a few laughs together, and talked about the cool things that I and SCE Event Group could make happen for them.
A few days later, they finalized their decision to have me host their wedding celebration.
This one instance really reflects our approach to helping couples find the right entertainment professional. It’s a boutique-style approach centered around them and their vision. I personally love to connect with every one of my Brides and Grooms; that’s why they’re so comfortable when they make the decision to have me and SCE Event Group host their celebration. Whether it’s face-to-face at our West Long Branch headquarters, or “face-to-face” over a video call (or even on the telephone), it really does come down to a personal connection. As “social” as media has gotten, we still ultimately want to connect with people on a human level.
Just last week, Corin and Louie’s planning finally culminated in an incredible celebration with family and friends at the Sterling Ballroom in Tinton Falls, NJ. Did I mention it was an afternoon wedding? Not one of their guests thought about that once we got started-- it was Saturday night in there! Enhancements included four Intelligent Light fixtures which we used for Grand Introductions, spotlighting their First Dance, and throughout the entire event to give the ballroom visual ambience. The musical program encompassed some fun cross-generational favorites along with some lesser-known alternative selections geared towards the couple.
By the way, I finally met Corin & Louie in person ... on their wedding day! Every interaction we had during their planning process was virtual via a video call or email. Thank you, technology, for making the world a little smaller and for allowing our business to forget geographical boundaries.
Thanks so much to these two fun-loving people for allowing me and SCE Event Group to help them celebrate. I really do get to work with THE coolest Brides and Grooms.
